2015 Santa's Old Bridge Parade
Parade Route
Parade Route: Harbor Drive in Lake Ridge. Drop off point for walking participants is on Minnieville Road at Harbor Drive. Staging will take place in the old VDOT lot at the corner of Harbor Drive and Minnieville Road. Parking is available in the new commuter lot on Minnieville Road and inside the Tackett’s Mill Shopping Center. Harbor Drive will be closed for the parade. Marching time about 1 hour.

Date and Time: 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015.
Theme: Rock and Roll Christmas
Entry Fee: $30. Check or Credit Card.
Bad Weather: If weather is severe, parade will be cancelled.

Safety, Insurance, Traffic and Crowd Control issues:
- For safety of spectators and participants – NO handouts/no tossing or throwing items – no candy, no food or drinks, no favors, leaflets, flyers, etc – are to be thrown from vehicles or floats or handed out.
- No solicitations of any kind from parade crowd or from parade participants are permitted
- Animals other than trained horses are not recommended due to loud and unusual noises, large crowds and small children. Animals must be under control at all times. Those who bring animals do so at their own risk, and they accept total and complete responsibility and liability for the animal (s) behavior.
General Information
Decorated vehicles: Decorations in keeping with «Rock Out Holidays» theme encouraged.
Holiday Sounds: Each group is encouraged to have a sound to capture the spirit of the parade and to avoid dead spots. Sounds can be as simple as a holiday song, cheers, jingling bells, shoe taps, clapping routine, taped music, etc.
No Santa Clauses: The only Santa will be at the end of the Parade. Do not plan any kind of «Santa» with your unit. Several Santas are confusing to children.
Uniforms/Costumes: All parade participants should be in full uniform or costume to be easily identified as a group. Warm clothing should be worn under uniform or costume. Santa hats ok.
Unit Identification: Each unit shall have an identifying sign or banner with name of participant or participating organization. Please cover advertising to preserve the noncommercial spirit of the Parade.
Briefing / Information: Call Observer newspaper office at 703-369-5253 with questions.
Cancellations: If unit must withdraw, please call us at 703-369-5253. Night before parade call 703-361-5379. Parade morning call 703-380-3401. No refunds.
Judging and awards: Units will be judged during the parade. Judging criteria: adherence to theme, overall appeal and precision.
Parking: Parking in the lineup area is for parade vehicles. Please park personal vehicles at WSHS lower lot and walk to assigned lineup position.
